Akshaya Chaitanya Foundation
Akshaya Chaitanya is a Mumbai-based not-for-profit initiative of the HKM Charitable Foundation, established with the objective of eradicating hunger in a sustainable and scalable manner. Founded in 2012, the organisation operates a centralised, fully automated kitchen in Byculla and runs three key feeding programmes. To date, Akshaya Chaitanya has served over 23.9 million meals, reaching more than 6.3 million beneficiaries across 172 municipal schools and 31 government hospitals. The organisation’s work is guided by a vision of ensuring food security for every vulnerable individual, with a mission to serve one lakh beneficiaries daily across different vulnerable situations in Mumbai.
